the red tent (pt. 2)

wow. it's been a long time since I was on this thing... my xanga kicks my blog's butt. it's easier to customize, and I like to make my pages look pretty. It's probably my favorite thing about blogging (as nerdy as that sounds...)

anyway. christmas was wonderful. I got everything I ever wanted plus some... and I love seeing my grandparents and uncle. so that was cool too.

Today I've been reading The Red Tent! It's pretty good so far. Although my warning (for anybody also wanting to read it...) is that they talk about menstral blood/pregnancy a lot. But it was a much bigger deal back then, because of the honor associated with childbirth (also there's not a lot else for them to do!). I thought it was going to be all about old testament women in general, but it's actually only about Jacob's family (aka his 4 wives, their 12 sons and the daughter Dinah.)

oohhh and my grades were finally posted up online! yay! all A's except for 1 B+ and one regular B (which should have been a B-, so I'm happy. The pluses and the minuses affect your GPA at umkc. but of course they don't have an A+ (which totally penalizes smart kids, but don't even get me started on that. lol))

Comments:
Honestly, the grades don't matter. Take time to ejoy your life and the whole college experience. You'll get the same job regardless of grades. That is my wife's advice. She said if she could change one thing about college - it would be that she wouldn't have studied as much as she did. And this was coming from someone who was one of the highest ranked employees at Sprint.

But I doubt that she would have been able to study less, that's not who she is. What am I rambling on about and what does it have to do with your post? Oh yeah, poor smart kids who can't get A+.

Your books sounds really exciting.

You should put your xanga site on as a link off the side, so we can see you in all your greatness.

To back up what is being said, my experience is that experience matters more than grades. I always had better grades than experience.

Golden's grades went down the semester she met me as well. :) I met her as a freshman in college so I didn't have previous grades to compare mine against.

Yep, my grades did go down when Dust and I started dating. I got a C in Government. Another problem was that I worked from 7pm-10 pm, four weeknights. That is my prime studying time. My brain shuts off after 10 pm.
